Why FairPrice Exists
Because "what's your budget?" is a broken question — and everyone knows it.
The Problem I Couldn't Stop Thinking About
I've been a freelance developer for years. Every pricing conversation followed the same pattern: client lowballs, I inflate, we dance around the real number for two weeks, and one of us eventually gives in — usually me, leaving money on the table, or them, leaving annoyed.
The worst part? Most of the time we were only a few hundred dollars apart. We just didn't know it.
I started thinking about sealed-bid auctions. In game theory, simultaneous anonymous submissions make honesty the optimal strategy — there's no advantage to gaming the system. Why doesn't freelance pricing work this way?
FairPrice is the answer to that question. Both sides submit their real budget ranges privately. If they overlap, the algorithm finds the fair midpoint. If they don't, everyone finds out instantly — no wasted proposal, no wasted call.
Who Built This
Marcin Dudek
Founder & Developer, FairPrice
Freelance developer and indie maker. I build tools that solve problems I've experienced personally. FairPrice came out of years of painful pricing conversations and one too many deals lost to anchoring bias.
I believe the best tools are ones you can explain in a single sentence and use in under 60 seconds. FairPrice is both.
How We Work
Honest pricing only
We don't help you game negotiations. We help both sides submit what they actually mean, so fair deals happen faster.
Simple and fast
One payment, unlimited projects, first result in under 60 seconds. No dashboards to learn, no subscriptions to manage.
Privacy first
All budget data is Fernet-encrypted and deleted after 30 days. Your numbers are never seen by anyone — including us — until both sides submit.
